Booking questions

Frequently asked questions

Which Gili Air tour is best value?

The shared snorkelling boats, from around US$15 including gear, are the best value in the Gilis and usually find turtles. For a special day, the catamaran trip is the most comfortable way to see all three islands.

Do tours pick up from Gili Air hotels?

Snorkelling trips leave from the beach, and many will collect you from your hotel by bike or cidomo. Lombok day trips normally include the boat to Bangsal and a car from there — check the pickup details on each listing.

Should I book fast boats in advance?

In July, August and over Christmas and New Year, yes — the popular morning departures fill up. The rest of the year a day or two ahead is usually enough. Booking online also fixes the price and hotel pickup.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Operators cancel or reschedule boat trips when the sea is unsafe, and you are normally offered a new date or a refund. Most GetYourGuide products also have free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
